Awareness Heals is the result of Dr. Nelie Johnson’s synthesis of knowledge from several sources of recognized medical and scientific research – the work and experience of doctors, psychologists, scientists, and health practitioners.

In her approach, Dr. Johnson integrates aspects of the work of Brandon Bays of The Journey , Byron Katie of The Work, Maureen Edwardson of Inner Resonance Technologies , and others.

Fundamental to her approach is the recognition that disease, illness or unwanted behaviour is the response of the automatic brain to contain and manage the stress that has occurred in a person’s life. When a person brings awareness to the emotional impact of an event, insight and understanding can follow. Being aware of the ‘why’ of a condition is a big part of the healing process.

Awareness Heals provides tools to help the client effectively access, bring awareness to the impact, and release those emotions and thoughts that are at the root of the illness or ‘dis-ease’. The approach is not a panacea and not miraculous. However, there is opportunity for enhancing and optimizing the healing process.

The process is like putting together the pieces of a puzzle, and as the picture emerges, the reasons why the disease manifested itself become clear. This often helps the person to shift toward a new perspective or point of view which contributes to transformation and healing.

Healing is both the process and the result of coming into a more wholesome relationship with oneself. There are many routes that can bring a person to healing. However, healing requires a shift in the person’s perspective or inner dialogue.

Healing involves bringing awareness to the person’s inner emotional and mental experience where there has been a lack of wholeness, a wounding or a trauma, either physical or emotional, then finding a way to move beyond the emotional conflict and let it go.
